In other words, the city prioritizes what the most important streets are to salt first. Mansfield initiated what is commonly referred to as a "sensible salting" policy. The policy says plow trucks will not enter zone streets, also known as residential streets, until all first and second priority streets have been completed. Streets are classified as first priority or second priority in 10 zones, based on the how much they are traveled. Remy said the snow plow plan implemented in November 2018 is still in effect.
